Some jackets do all the talking, and this short rust, black and white bogolan mudcloth bolero is one of them. Bogolan cotton mudcloth is a traditional fabric, and every piece is one of a kind, like a small work of art. The rust color, black marks and cream leaf shapes vary from piece to piece, and small imperfections are part of its charm, so no two boleros look exactly alike. The cut is short and relaxed, with roomy sleeves you can wear with the cuffs turned back. One large black button closes the front, or wear it open. It is one size and easy to slip on. Layer it over a black cowl neck top with jeans, as shown, or over a simple dress to add color and texture. The cotton is breathable, so it works for fall, spring and cool summer evenings. Each bolero is made in small batches in Angela’s Ballard studio in Seattle. For care, we suggest spot cleaning or dry cleaning, and hanging it to air out between wears. Slow fashion is choosing pieces with character that you will love for years.
