There is something quietly magical about slipping on a piece that nature helped design. This poncho started as plain Habotai silk before real black walnut leaves were pressed onto it by hand in Angela's Ballard studio, leaving behind soft, painterly marks in turquoise, green, blue, black and grey. No two pieces ever turn out exactly the same, which is part of the charm. Nothing here was drawn or painted. The color and shape came straight from the leaves.
The silk itself is light as air and drapes beautifully, so it folds easily into a suitcase yet still feels special enough for an evening out. Style it a few different ways: centered in front for a clean, classic V-neck look, draped over one shoulder for something more relaxed, or tied loosely like an oversized scarf. It measures 21 inches long and 41 inches wide, with a center opening and no armholes, so it moves easily from size small through plus. The eco print carries through identically on both sides, so it looks intentional no matter how you wear it.
To keep the colors soft and true, wash gently in cold water or by hand, then hang to dry.
Slow fashion, at its best, feels like wearing a small piece of nature's own artwork.
